The glitch was because of a poorly trained technician in the control room, plus persons untrained and unprepared when it came time to cancel the alarm. As the flight time of an ICBM from North Korea to Hawaii is on the order 20 minutes or so, the 38 minutes is unconscionable.

The reason for the preparedness in the first place is entirely on the head of Kim Jung Un, who has had several perfectly good opportunities to stand down his missile launch capabilities and discuss this like a reasonable person. But NOOOO, he has to play the character of John Belushi to the hilt, bluffing and dancing about in unholy glee, when the bluffs succeed, as they did so many times during the last THREE administrations.

These threats and bluffs are now being called out, and Kim Jung Un is greatly nonplussed.

The fact that the Hawaiian authorities cried “Wolf!” so quickly only encourages him to keep dancing at the launch button. Maybe he can get them to cry “Wolf!” so often, that people will ignore the REAL incoming.

Don’t they need to have two people to launch a missile? Shouldn’t the alert button be beneath a plastic cover and require a ‘confirmation’ click? You even need a confirmation click to execute ‘most’ commands on a computer.

This was all a set-up.
