'Wave versus the map': Democratic control of Senate moves from preposterous to possible
MSN / Washington Post ^ | January 13, 2018

The possibility that Democrats could win the Senate in 2018 seemed preposterous a year ago given President Trump's stunning victory and the basic math facing a party defending three times as many seats as Republicans in November's midterm elections.

Not anymore. The debate has grown over Democrats' chances of capturing control of the agenda and holding power over Trump's nominations, including potential vacancies on the Supreme Court.

The dispute pits the practitioners of big data against those who also scout candidates and measure broader political atmosphere to make their bets.

--------------------- Both Silver and Cook believe the Democratic case for picking up the 24 House seats they need for the majority has only gotten stronger amid Trump's historic unpopularity for a first-year president. Silver actually believes some analysts have been "slow to recognize just how bad things had gotten for Republicans," given election data from 2017 congressional special elections and Virginia's gubernatorial race.

Cook believes Democrats are now favored to win the House.

It is inevitable that we will get a flood of these, “it’s inevitable” stories regarding 2018 elections from our friends in the MSM.

msnbc and Washington compost, consider the source. This is another “this is it for trump” story.

After Alabama and the GOPe willingness to attack Trump at every turn, I am no longer sure of what might happen in November 2018.

If the demodummies take the House, DO NOT blame Trump, blame those lazy dogs called republicans. They are the only ones that could keep the House by actually supporting Trump.

Republicans have a massive communications effort on behalf of truth which must be waged immediately in order to overpower the false, not the overused "fake," messaging of Progressives in both Parties!

So now they are predicting the Democrats take both house and the Senate? If so, then DJT will not only be Impeached but also Removed -as will Pence, making Speaker Pelosi President. That would be a disaster the USA would never recover from. But it is likely the ‘Plan’.

“Trump’s historic unpopularity for a first-year president”

Reagan’s job approval in 1982 was 35%

If the democrats have a chance, it is not because they have an appealing agenda, but because the Republicans were too cowed and timid to work on the citizens’ agenda that got them elected.

Personally, I wouldn’t vote for a #NeverTrump’er for all the tea in China. DJT would be better off fighting off real Ds rather than these frauds.

I don’t get how the Democrats win the Senate.

With about 10 GOP seats up, and about 25 Democrat seats up, I just don’t see a Democrat path.

I’ve heard two GOP seats are vulnerable, but about 10-12 Democrat senate seats are vulnerable.

For the Democrats to take the Senate, they would need to keep every single one of their vulnerable seats, and pick up the GOP vulnerable seats. They would have to run the table.

Also, I’ve heard that the Democrat party is broke. Which means that, they are going to have to make choices in these campaigns, as to who to support, and who to cut loose. Those cut loose will be on their own, and probably lose re-election.

I’m trying to say, no way that the Democrats can keep every single one of the vulnerable seats without the resources(money) to run the campaigns needed to win those seats.

The DNC/sorozNazi already effectively control the senate. McShame, McConnell, Ryan much of the time, . Lindsay, Collins, flake and a couple more. This is why most of what we voted for has been blocked

If Ryan and McConnell prefer to preside over minorities in the House and Senate, then they will continue their reluctant brand of leadership.

On the other hand, if they wish to go down in the history books as part of the phenomenon of freedom and prosperity unleashed by Trump's forceful leadership, then they must get their act together and lead.

Yep, and the same pollsters and pundits told us Hillary would be President.

If we want to safeguard our majority we need to put cameras outside of every voting station. If they report five thousand people voting and the video show 800 people went into vote, we have the poll watchers arrested.

I’m just mentioning the Trump election of 2016 doesn’t mean we will win all elections and I’m tired of hearing it. You don’t win the Super Bowl sitting around bragging you won the last Super Bowl.
