Jesus defined marriage as a lifelong union of one man and one woman. Jesus did not say that marriage is a union between people of the same sex or a union between a man and a woman until someone better comes along. So gay marriage does not meet that definition. Neither does a marriage where one or both partners have been divorced.
1 Corinthians 7:15
