Once again Trump pushes the outside of the envelope of what’s politically acceptable, in a good way. Think of all the things that a politician could supposedly never get away with, before Trump. Trump talks about all those issues that the people care about but which our “betters” have told us are off the table for all these years.
Trump has called the effete elite’s bluff on immigration and revealed that his positions on immigration are far from politically suicidal. On the contrary, they’re strongly supported by the silent majority. All it took to reveal this was a politician who didn’t buy the conventional wisdom that the elites tried to sell and didn’t back down from the inevitable attacks from the punditry but fought them instead.
It’s the most amazing thing to witness. When Trump speaks, nothing really changes, but the world-view of liberals and deep-staters turns into a cross between a Salvador Dali and Hierynomus Bosch painting. Suddenly, frogs emerge from the mouths of gibbering baboons and elephants stride by on stork-like legs. Clocks melt and run backwards while nekkid women walk arm-in-arm with crows. Listen to them! “Omygawd Trump said shinola and shitake! My face is melting! The sun is exploding in my brain! Argle-bargle garble farb!!!…”
