Donald Trump cancels February visit to UK

Donald Trump has cancelled a planned visit to the UK in February, where he had been expected to open a new $1bn (£738m) US embassy in London.

In a tweet, the US president said he was not a "big fan" of the new embassy - which is moving from Mayfair to south London - saying it was a "bad deal".

The old site was sold by Barack Obama's administration for "peanuts", he added.

The trip was not the controversial full state visit offered by Theresa May, for which no date has yet been set.

Downing Street declined to comment on Mr Trump's cancellation of the trip.

Good !

Forget these foreign trips.

If foreign “leaders” wish to see Trump, they can go to the White House and line up in the hall outside the Oval Office.

It might be worth pointing out that from the discussion and planning stages of this new US embassy in London and it’s construction...all of this occurred long before Obama became President, and is probably another Bush-agenda item destined for marginal success.

What’s odd here is that almost ALL embassies in London, are within a five-minute walk of Hyde Park.

This new US position is down across the river, by itself. Across the way (east) is the flower market. The railway network is to the south. To the west is mostly warehouses. The property was valued to a degree, but mostly for use as commercial use. To suggest this was a place to put a US embassy is a joke.

I’ll go ahead and predict that they start looking for a new property back at Hyde Park by 2030 and dump this river-front area embassy within a 20-year lifespan.

Going to England is not a free vacation for The Donald like it was for The Osucka.

He's been there before so he does not have the "if it's free, it's for me" incentive like an Obama would have.

They don't want him there, fine. Maybe they don't want our money or our fighter jets either.

Special relationship.

Ha.

p.s. The Donald already did an Islamic country tour anyway.

Assange is in England in the Ecudoran Embassy. He’s now been given Ecudoran citizenship with the goal of providing him with diplomatic immunity to leave the embassy without facing arrest by Brits. England said no - he’s not accepted as a diplomat and would be arrested. Wonder if part of Trump’s reason for cancel is sign of displeasure re England. On some levels (If you are someone watching Q Anon posts with interest) England is not our friend -and this is one of those ways.

If May kills the special relationship with the US then Brexit is dead. The only leverage they can have with the Euros is to negotiate in advance a US-UK free trade agreement. Without this the Euros will hold the Brits hostage. May seems too stupid to realize this.

Article about the new building explaining, inter alia, the reasons for the location:

Hyped up talk from the Guardian article on the building. But if you google the half-mile around the new structure, it’s a joke. Unless there is massive city planning deal going on and the whole area to change, this is an industrial area next to the river. It’d be like Maceys putting up a new store next to the cattle sale barn in Nashville.

“Special friends” dont use their intelligence service based on our soil to collaborate with deep state traitors to eavesdrop and report on our POTUS, his family and his political campaign staff and associates and any other American deemed a “threat “ to the American progressive agenda

Britain owes Donald Trump - and us - a deep apology
I dont know how he could even stand to look at them

This is a result of the new normal. The new embassy is 100 feet back from the street, surrounded by a security wall, has living quarters on the grounds for the Marine detachment, all security requirements that are needed these days and which the old site couldn't provide.
