President Donald Trump has effectively endorsed the House GOPs immigration reform bill, just one day after he invited Democrats and Republicans from both the House and Senate to negotiate a deal..
...The vast majority of Republicans in the House can vote for this it is common sense stuff, and is what President Trump campaigned on and won on, Rosemary Jenks, policy director at the Federation for American Immigration Reform told Breitbart before the Trump announcement. She added:
There are things in this bill that I dont like, but the balance overall is pro-American. Trump needs to get on board with the House bill and tell the Senate that is what he wants....
..The illegals would be allowed to get renewable work permits, but not green cards or citizenship. In contrast, the Democrats DREAM Act would put 3.25 million illegals on a fast-track to citizenship and the voting booths and would allow them to invite millions of chain-migration relatives to enter the United States.
The House bill would also trim chain migration, so cutting annual immigration rates from roughly 1.1 million by 260,000 per year. Under the House bill, new citizens could only sponsor spouses and minor children. Under current rules, new citizens can import their parents and siblings, who can later import their own spouses and siblings.
The bill would end the visa lottery which annually awards 50,000 green cards... by lottery. It penalizes cities which exclude federal immigration enforcement and sets legal changes to ensure that a border wall can exclude todays growing wave of asylum seekers and people who claim to be unaccompanied children.
The House bill would also require all employers to verify the work-eligibility of prospective hires, so largely turning off the magnet which encourages migrants to walk, drive or fly into the United States.

It's now or never!
What does this gobbledygook mean? Just build a f-ing wall already.
Cruz and Rubio will never go for that! DOA in the Senate for sure.
Breitbart has turned globalist China.
It won't be now.
This sounds like a darn good bill which means even if the GOP can get enough GOP House votes it would not go anywhere in the Senate.
Dem/progressive activists are demanding that the congressional Dems get Dreamer amnesty just for them supporting a budget (the ‘Clean bill’) and give nothing for it on anything else related to immigration.
If the House passes this at least the GOP can say they tried.
Dont need new laws or a wall.
Under guise of social security fraud reduction,
Should be very easy to track down duplicate ssn numbers in use
and prosecute the employers, jail time and confiscation of assets
will reduce illegals faster than any wall or new laws.
This provision stands out as absolutely critical. It allows people who have been here for years to stay in school and perhaps get a job here, but doesn't send them to the front of the line for permanent residency or citizenship.
The work permits would also ensure that they are gainfully employed.
we need a test case to go to SCOTUS for this. It has NEVER been formally litigated. I’d rather do it when Ginsberg kicks the bucket and Kennedy retires.
It will never get thru the Senate, but I love the bill Goodlatte has written. Trading these 800,000 cats for permanent end to chain migration is a no-brainer.
Only thing they have to add to it is this:
“This is not subject to judicial review”
I’m hoping that Trump is firm on:
1. Building the Wall
2. End Chain migration
3. End lottery system
4. No rapid pathway to citizenship for illegals or DACA
5. End sanctuary cities
We are in charge of three branches of gov’t. But there at least 5 RINO repubs who do not agree with the above.
Cutting chain migration to just spouses and children is a big step. I would still like to see the total number of immigrants under this provision reduced by half.
Birthright citizenship changes requires a constitutional amendment, I do not see that happening. Best defense is strong border enforcement.
WHAT PROOF of Trump himself, not some source, exists of Trump supporting that bill???
I suspect none...all bluster, like, Coulter, chicken-littling...
I Trump over any sources or reports.
I’m sure he is playing out his plan...I hope some of it involves some recordings of nasty crap the pervert reps did.
Sounds like a good bill. The Reps need to get the Dems on the record before the midterms.
The problem I have with this is that if we allow 3.25 Dreamers fast track to citizenship, why would we allow chain migration PER YEAR?
At the most, let Dreamers bring in their spouse and minor children, and then STOP.
No more chain migration.
EVERY LEGAL IMIGRANT APPLIES SEPARATELY.
If someone with a spouse and three kids applies to immigrate, they need to fill out and submit FOUR applications, which ALL need to be approved.
I guess the “proof” is when the President says he will “Sign whatever they bring him.” We all heard him say that.
What’s not being noticed or said, however, is they have to first bring him a PASSED bill, one that both the House and Senate voted for, before he simply signs it.
What’s being ignored is the likelihood of that.
I put the odds of a bill passing both bodies at 1000:1.
The democrats won’t vote for the Republican requirements: wall, no lottery, no chain migration, better enforcement), and the Republicans (not the RINOs, but all of them, which includes the Freedom Caucus) will never agree to the democrats amnesty only.
In other words, something’s got to give before we see a signing ceremony.
...Birthright citizenship changes require a constitutional amendment....

Are you sure of that? If so, do you have a link to definitive support for that statement. I guess its possible that the amendment granting citizenship to freed slaves may have been judicially over-interpreted. But, in general, I thought that the Constitution granted Congress jurisdiction to determine citizenship/immigration issues.
The House bill contains e-verify and an end to chain migration. The Dems have been adamant about DACA first and then immigration reform to the point of being creepy about it. I hope the Senate gets on board for the House bill.
Anyone else mad at the media for trying to define that meeting as strange, odd, bizarre, etc?
looks like a cut of 20%. It should be 100
NO citizenship application unless they have been off welfare for at least three consecutive years before applying!
