Most Mormon leadership, despite having conservative moral values, are full-bore nanny-staters. They truly believe people are better off when the elite few dictate (guide, in their minds) the lives of the poor, clueless masses, whom they honestly believe are unable to make decisions on their own. See Mike Leavitt and John Huntsman, Jr. as examples. Mitt is another. The whole religion is structured around obedience to hierarchical dictates. They believe the government should be the same.

If he was doing poorly or Romney was a democRAT, then I could see why Romney would attack him.
But now that Trump is in office and his first year was successful, why does Romney think he still has to go after our president? It sounds like a personal animosity towards Trump instead of policy differences.
