I don’t understand why. From what I read Youtube does this scam that is called “monetizing” videos by putting ads on them and they pay $2,000 for every thousand views a person gets and Youtube takes 45% of that which is absolutely ripping off whoever made the video and music because Youtube does absolutely nothing to promote those videos. These people involved in that are nuts because they could start their own websites and get 100% of the ad revenue. But the thing is where a band would make a ton of money in the past off say 6 million album sales now they only make $5,400 while Youtube that does absolutely nothing to promote that music is using that music to make money for themselves while offering that music for free to the public, it’s unreal how they get away with that crap and it makes me wonder if Google has Congress in their back pocket. It’s absolute clear cut copyright infringement.

Youtube has put banner advertising on my videos that I get NO compensation for (I did not monetize).

either way youtube will spam (and make money off) your video with front loaded ads (monetized vids) or banners over your video (if the viewing user does not pay youtube to watch videos ad free).

About the only way to not have ads stapled to your video is to be blacklisted as something no company wants ties to.
