Certainly Oregonians should be allowed to pump their own gas, but not without a government permit involving mandatory training classes, proficiency testing, and a pit crew standing by with fire extinguishers ready. Also the high-capacity nozzles currently legal will have to be replaced with ones restricted to a quart a minute. All of these will, naturally, cost a good deal of money, but a substantial tax hike should cover that.
The gas stations can just rent out throw away biohaz-suits from vending machines next to the pumps, with instructions on them, for a small fee of course!
