During the 2016 primary season, Donald Trump pledged to facilitate lower health insurance premiums by permitting coverage to be sold across state lines. Oddly, considering that conservatives have long advocated this as a way of augmenting market competition among insurers, the proposal was ridiculed by his opponents for the Republican presidential nomination. During one debate Marco Rubio actually mimicked Trumps physical gestures, mocked his references to lines around the states, and snidely added, whatever that means. Friday, the Trump administration demonstrated what that means by issuing a new regulation allowing association health plans (AHPs) to offer coverage across state lines.

FUMR!
Thank you. I just had to get that off my chest.
Thank heavens The Godfather of Obamacare, Mitt Romney, is going to get ensconced in the senate where he can fight tooth and nail to keep it afloat. And say tough, mean things about Trump, hes good at that.

If this is the MR you refer to I second that.
That is the right MR.
Yes, and now that his name has been mentioned, keep that backstabbing son of a bitch Milt Romley out of the Senate.
I went on record last year, on many occasions, explaining that if the individual mandate was still in effect on election day this year, I would vote straight democrat ticket. I got a lot of grief about that, but not only did a lot of people agree, but I got a lot of freepmail agreeing from people that didn’t want to get the same beating I was getting in the threads.
I think a lot of americans felt that way, and it’s why we are were we are now.
The mandate was the part that I saw as ultimately unconstitutional and repulsive in the way the SCOTUS kept it there because they knew that if it went, Obamacare went.
And here we are. :)

Exactly. Nails are ‘nice’, but we need a final stake through the heart of the blood-sucking beast that is Obamacare & that is absolute, total repeal.
Except Ocare didn’t prohibit the state line selling. That’s been in place for years.

J foresee some comutee wiz/artiixt making gif cartoon of this,
Isn't that what got us ObamaCare in the first place?
All the USSC did was acknowledge that the individual mandate was a "tax," not a regulation under the Interstate Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.
Congress was able to repeal it because it was a "tax." Since it was a tax, it could be repealed as part of a reconciliation bill with a simple majority instead of a 60-vote supermajority in the Senate.
I'm not so sure about that. I live in MA, and I always thought Romney came up with Mass. Romneycare so that he could run for President and say, "See, I fixed healthcare as Governor." I'm less sure that he means it. Or, that he stands for anything except being politically prominent.
On the other hand, he put Evander Holyfield down in the 1st round (/S).
Wait a minute! Didn’t SCOTUS declare the mandate the only legality of Obamascare? Didn’t congress just cancel the mandate? Shouldn’t the whole thing just be tossed out because it was originated in the Senate?
Excellent response!
Anyone not happy with how Obama Care is going down...to the point that they say they would vote straight Democrat...
Words escape me.
borrowed from pookie18.
lol
Yes. My attitude was that if we’re going down as a nation, let’s get it done as fast as possible and get it over with, so we can start fresh.
And now it’s only Obamacare that will be taking that plunge.
