Perhaps the photographer stepped back a few feet.

The photo showing the woman attendee was clipped from video. That is obvious due to the streamer along the bottom. It was a CBS news video.
The other photo could be been clipped from A video or could have been a camera shot. No source credit is given.
At first I thought that too. But then I noticed that all the people on the left are in a different order. That did not happen in 1 second.
