President Trump boasted Tuesday evening that he had a nuclear button that is much bigger and more powerful than North Koreas, again prompting fears that an errant tweet could lead to a nuclear conflict. (It is worth noting that there is no nuclear button.)
Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times. Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works! 7:49 PM - Jan 2, 2018 153,553 153,553 Replies 184,051 184,051 Retweets 465,109 465,109 likes
The remark led to an immediate debate over whether Mr. Trump had broken Twitters rules and whether the platform should bar him from posting.
A company spokeswoman said in an interview on Wednesday that the tweet had not violated its terms of service.
The platforms policy says that only specific threats of violence or wishing for serious physical harm, death, or disease to an individual or group of people constitute violations.
Is there any situation that would cause Twitter to suspend or ban President Trump?
In theory, yes. Twitter has insisted that there are no exceptions to its rules and that all individuals using the platform must adhere to them, or risk disciplinary action or permanent suspension.

Frankly, I’m surprised they haven’t already.
Not without first coordinating the move with the Democrats and the MSM.
Doesn’t it lead to massive traffic for Twitter?
I never used to follow Twitter regularly until the Trump era.
I follow him, DJT Jr, James Woods, and LS among others.
The Commies preferred tactic to opponents, even the President. “Just sit down and shut up so we can deliver the narrative, uninterrupted”
I think such a move would sink its stock 30% or more.
Never - Twitter is a winner in all this.
The New York Times blatantly attempting to silence President Trump.
Twitter banning the president from tweeting? That would not be good for business. No business self destructs for politics.
Well.... except the NYT, CNN, NFL, most labor unions, Insurance Industry......
They've seen what kind of trouble the NFL is in
It TRUMP ever gets banned, next day their stock market cap would probably lose $5 Billion LOL
If Twitter did it would probably be the greatest thing that could happen for GAB. (a twitter alternative that is working to gain an audience)
They had the rogue employee do it a few weeks ago on his way out. Good it back on pretty fast.
If tweeting does TRUMP no good & gets him into trouble, why not just give him more rope to hang himself?
They know Twitter is one of the reasons TRUMP got Elected! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Trump would make any other provider billions if he decided to move or was banned. Trump is the greatest show on earth.
60 millions followers will raise holy hell if Twitter suspends Trump’s account. They cant afford that.
This is their important news, while Uranium One, FBI collusion with the Dems to exonerate Clinton, espionage by the Awan family, and ex Obama admin are showing support for the Mullahs in Iran.
One would think they might consider reporting on the news.
I hope they do. It will elevate the issue that a handful of Liberal Silicon Valley firms hold sway over the First Amendment front and center.
Concern trolls.
Kim Jong Un has been threatening to nuke us for a decade, now he’s getting a taste of his own medicine.
President Trump gives no ph*cks.
“Would Twitter Ever Suspend Trumps Account?”
