LMAO! Agree. Although, while he is doing SOME-thing, it’s the minor paperwork stuff, and not the “bonus round” stuff.
There.
Mr. “Recuse” needs to recuse himself from the position of AG.
Im with you. I believe Sessions will surprise everyone when the hammer drops. I trust Trump. If Trump is happy with keeping him, then I figure things must be unfolding according to Trumps plan.
......................
I used to feel this way, but now I believe that Trump could not survive the turnover rate associated with his first days in office coupled with his concurrent public disputes with both Sessions and Tillerson.
He had to tamp that down and work with what he had.
Additionally, Trump tweeted his sentiments re Sessions....saying he was not doing his job.
Remember that?......and then the entire Congress told Trump in so many words to back off on Jeff, who is a beloved member.
Trumps approval rating tanked immediately after those tweets.
If Trump fired Sessions, it would be up to the Senate to approve his replacement......a Senate who at that time was looking for any way to screw Trump
So, I think Trump is just biding his time until he can replace Sessions.
As soon as he has enough support from Congress he will do it.
Lets watch to see what Grassley does.....Grassley will be Sessions canary in the coal mine.
Not necessarily. Actually, if Sessions resigns, Trump doesn't need approval by the Senate to appoint someone to fill the position. Under the Vacancies Reform Act, 5 U.S.C. §§ 3345-3349d , he can appoint anyone he wants as acting Attorney General. He does not have to wait for a recess and Rosenstein won't become acting Attorney General. This person will have all the powers of the Attorney General, just not the title. So in effect, he could appoint a hardliner as AG, and he will be acting AG until he has a nominee confirmed by the Senate. There is no time limit on when he has to submit a nominee. He can take as long as he likes - meanwhile he has his hardliner in.
Authority of the President to Name an Acting Attorney General
“Rosenweasel becomes AG if Sessions resigns”
He already is.
acting.

I agree that SESSIONS must go! He is tackling repealing all marijuana laws, which WAR ON DRUGS failed (Nixon)...just like Prohibition failed. Sessions won’t touch Clinton, and said so a few months ago. He is either threatened or blackmailed by LEFT, not to touch Hill/Bill/or interfere w Russian Crap! DISASTER as AG, ABSOLUTELY!
Did Sessions and the FBI turn over the documents related to the dossier to the House Intelligence Committee due Jan. 3rd?
“If Trump is happy with keeping him”
Trump is not happy to keep him. Republicans in Senate say they will not appoint another one if he fires Sessions.
I had no idea.
Yup
Trump is NOT happy with Sessions, and has said so...why would you think that! I think Sessions will be replaced if he doesn’t start providing some REAL AG work!
If Sessions is our best hope as AG, then we might as well give up right now. Seriously. I wish folks with your dogged support of Sessions would wake up and wrap your minds around the monumental damage he has done to the Trump presidency and, by extension, to us.
Senator Mitch McConell. check.
Ok - three months.
You post: “ No way they would have let him become AG if they didnt know in advance he would recuse on the election stuff.”
So what are you saying - that Pres. Trump lied?

You also posted: “No way they would confirm any new AG who would be better. Especially with only 51 votes in the Senate.”
Is there not another way?I believe he could unilaterally appoint someone currently holding another office that already has confirmation...and, at the same time, could slide Session over to another outfit, this not “firing”
AS I remember is, Pres Trump really wasn’t enthused about Sessions for that position in the first place, but was it was pushed by Priebus?
I think you've confused me with the Sessions-hating crowd, lol.
(Although, to be honest, I think medical marijuana might sometimes be a lesser evil than opium derivatives, and I'm sure Sessions's jihad against pot will cost Trump more votes than it gains.)
If you want Susan Collins, John McCain, and Lisa Murkowski to pick the next AG, then by all means keep up your jihad against Jeff.
the Senate knew, Trump didn’t
