Yes the Hayward fault.

(Now called the East Bay
fault I believe)

Runs right through Cal State Hayward.

I recall a few decades ago walking part of it on the campus.

There was a pronounced crack, higher on one side than the other IIRC.

It was quite long.

Yes, and it also runs beneath several hospitals in Alameda County.

A major quake in Alameda County could be a true disaster, potentially swamping response resources.
