I understand the source of the Bannon supposed quote is very unreliable and a gossip hound writer with bad credentials.
However, why did POTUS and Don Jr take it as Gospel? Clearly they believe the source, because of their reaction.

I don’t think Trump took this as gospel. I think this is a distraction clearly intended to tie up the MSM for a few days while the administration defunds the PLO.

I have seen some writing bandied about as Trump's "reaction", but I have seen no one provide any proof that Trump actually said any of it. Do you have such proof?

I really thought Trump would come out and deny the whole thing as fabrication. Instead he came out with language that left no doubt that he believed that Bannon had said those things.
Has Bannon commented on this since it came out? I’d like to hear his side of things.
If all this is true, it is very, very strange. Bannon has been very supportive of Trump ever since he left the white house.
