I really don’t remember the last time I had an attendant pump gas into the car for me. It’s been a long time.
For me, it was the last time I bought gas in New Jersey - so, about 5 years ago.
My uncle ran a service station across from my parents business when I was a kid in the 70’s. Needless to say they pumped the gas for any car that pulled in and good Lord as a ten year old me and my brothers would hang out and clean windshields of cars that pulled in and would even pump their gas. It ain’t rocket science, just common sense.
Follow the money, high minimum wage laws in Oregon finally caught up with the gas pumpers looks like. Maybe if Oregon doesn’t post any warning signs they can thin the herd and melt some snowflakes, literally.
Last time I had someone pump my gas for me was in May of 2013...when I was in OREGON... :-)
But, the first time I was there years ago, I had a similar experience as another FReeper. I tried pumping my own gas and got "in trouble." Really felt odd having someone pump gas for me. Even after many trips there...I still can't get used to it.
As I recall, the last time someone pumped my gas was at a truck stop in Oregon 11 years ago. I couldn’t believe the amount of wasted effort at such a plaace.
