President Donald Trump distanced himself from his former chief strategist Steve Bannon on Wednesday, contending that "he not only lost his job" but also "lost his mind" when he left the White House.

On Wednesday, excerpts from an upcoming Michael Wolff book showed that Bannon called a June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer "treasonous" and "unpatriotic."

This is breaking news. Please check back for updates.

Bannon disavowed this fake news.

No, a fake Bannon Twitter account disavowed this fake news.

It seems Peter King was right, Bannon comes across like he’s got a drinking problem. Maybe he does. What the hell was he thinking? How is meeting a Russian lawyer treason? Trump wasn’t even elected yet! If I meet a Russian lawyer am I committing treason? The guy has lost his marbles.

Yeah this whole darn thing seems odd..Bannon denies it, Trump would usually not believe ANYTHING unless it was told to his face..so what’s up..and the whole “He had no clue who Boehner was” yeah he did..he freakin mocked him, made fun of his crying, of course Trump knew who Boehner is..so that is totally BS, maybe this is too, but why that statement..are we being played LOL

See my post above. McConnell and a horribly run campaign cost the Republicans that seat.

Trump JR just retweeted it, so there’s that.

Now FoxNews is quoting this “Trump statement”, again with no video or twitter proof of Trump actually saying this.

_____________________________________________

This just occurred to me: What if Bannon never said “treasonous” and made any negative comments RE: Trump.

What if Trump DID NOT tweet or say “Bannon has lost his mind”?

And we know Bannon does not tweet, so he could not have tweeted a denial just now.

What if all this “Breaking News” has just been an elaborate mind-F—K hoisted on us by bored media rats?

I have thought and said that the main page forum has suffered from the effects of what I call the daily girl thread, the Trump Rally thread, that can not be found by newcomers and acts as a hidden site within a site, shrinking posting volume of heavier mainstream columns and articles that attract and could grow FR, affecting interest, engagement and the old tradition of wall to wall news coverage. I think it shows in shrinkage of quality and quantity of the main forum, where it matters to new eyes as well as members. If the thread were daily SIDE BARRED at least, it might help, although readers prefer to see titles, not sidebar backrooms, if you know what I mean. Bad marketing, when all the need is on the opening forum page and the energy is hidden on some thread no newcomer can find. Political junkies and men are less interested in receipes and food photos which should be placed like the “Gardening Thread”, but the political news and comments should be engaged on the main forum where the purpose of FREE REPUBLIC used to reside. My friendly rant. 😍

I want faithful MAGA people who support President Trump’s agenda, especially on all things pertaining to border and national security.
Those were the principal reasons I voted for Trump and I am waiting for construction of the border WALL and for the SCOTUS decision recognizing President Trump’s constitutional right to impose travel bans.

I want the illegal border crossings to cease and for my President to be free to keep Radical Islamic Terrorists out of our country.

Finally, I don’t want any more RATS to win or for any RINOs to go to Washington.

Yesterday, it was bad enough thinking of Romney being a Senator.
Today, speculation is that he might challenge President Trump in 2020. Yikes.

One final point: Senator Rand Paul pointed out how Utah voters need to remember RomneyCare was the premise upon which Obamacare was founded. Paul questioned Romney’s conservative credentials, in general.

Say what you will about Bannon, and some of the criticisms of him are correct, he’s one of the leaders of the fight against RINOs and GIP swamp creatures.

There is a time and place for everything, and this is not the time to be going after Bannon.

Let’s drain the swamp.

You know, I watched his “interview” with (lookout!) AJ where MD sat in the dark and didn’t want to go on camera. I seem to recall he made a point of how crooked Hillary is.

And here he is, basically helping her out for at least 6 months - hiding stories on the Clintons while pushing garbage like this.

I’ll never trust him again.
