i wonder what a shutdown will look like under Trump. My imagination is that it might be somewhat different. Can volunteers come into NPs and help out during a shutdown? What happens if 40-70% of the original fed NP workforce shows up for work, even during the shutdown? legal considerations? (liability issues?)

A friend is a Fed DOD research type ... he informs me that it’s actually illegal for him to be physically present in his lab or office during a shutdown. BUT ... his first day back on the job is just astonishingly productive. ;’}
