From that diagram I have a hard time believing this thing produces more energy than it uses to heat the poo.

See “Anerobic digester”. Proven technology.

A dairy farmer I know produces enough biogas to run his whole operation and sell the excess back to the power company.

“From that diagram I have a hard time believing this thing produces more energy than it uses to heat the poo.”

Totally agree. Not to mention the necessary maintenance and cleaning it will need. Considering also the initial cost this will easily be the most expensive lamp in the world.

And there’s going to be just as much poop left on the sidewalk as before. The responsible people will take care of their messes like before and the irresponsible ones will also act as they did before.

Another hairbrained, feel good, virtue signaling idea by some environut leftist.

I would not be surprised if that lamp doesn’t stay lit very long and they have to add a conventional one.

Agree with that. The stirrer alone will consume more energy than it makes.

There's no way this will work. People who don't pick up their dog waste anyway are sure not going to be motivated to pick it up and drop it in this device.

Besides, the street bums will strip the gadget of anything valuable within a day of its installation. Pawn shops will be inundated with parts smelling of doggy doo. Last month, the San Fran SPCA introduced "robots" to keep the bums away from their store. That idea lasted all of one day.
