One of my hopes for 2018 is that the trash-to-energy plants that the EPA have been discouraging once again begin to built. Sweden utilizes their trash to produce a huge percentage of their electric and heat needs.
There should be trash power centers all over the country. I know that the NY metropolitan area and NJ could use one.
Recycling doesn’t make much sense to me. You make a product with petroleum - as ingredients and maybe to power the process. With recycling, you break it down with petroleum/coal, ship it off with diesel, then remake it.
Why use so much more energy?
Oh wait, billions in kickbacks. Thanks politicians.
Wouldn’t it use a lot less energy to simply bury all that waste?
