Record cold weather caused by...you guessed it...global warming!

Something that never interferes with the climate change indoctrinators is facts. Since we are getting record cold, that is also caused by climate change and global warming, and that is caused by humans, according to these so-called "experts."

From an article that made its way to USA Today:

This week's cold snap has brought record-low temperatures, freezing rain and heavy snow to much of the United States. But 2017 is still on track to be the second- or third-hottest year ever recorded globally – and scientists say climate change is to blame[.] ...

Even this week's cold weather is probably being caused at least in part by global warming, said Jonathan Overpeck, a climate scientist at the University of Michigan.

WUT? Didn't manbearpig tell us there wouldn't be any ice at the north pole by now? Then I saw a clip of him somewhere yesterday saying he had been in Miami and seen fish swimming up the street on a sunny day. Uh, step away from the meth pipe al.

Anyone who promotes the idea of anthropogenic global warming is not a scientist. They are leftist hacks with impressive-sounding degrees but they are just plain silly in their beliefs like most libtards.

If global warming is truly occurring, why does energy consumption increase every year? Should it not be decreasing due to less energy being needed to heat homes in the northern hemisphere? Warming should lead to less consumption, not more.

Nah. He bought the place for Tipper when they split with him hoping the rising tide would take her out so he wouldn’t have to pay for her upkeep.

“If global warming is truly occurring, why does energy consumption increase every year? “

My energy bills are 3x higher in summer than winter!

I've told this story here before but back in the early 1970s, when I was a strapping young boy of about 10 or 11, I found the book below on my mother's bookshelf. I remember the picture of the baby on the cover grabbing me after I just read that four children just died during the time it took me to read the cover!

Even then, liberals were guilt-tripping us and making it "all about the children."

I was young and naive back then so of course, I believed every wood. I was upset with my mother for keeping this "secret" from me. I was doomed to die! We were going to run out of food before the 1970s were over on account of there being too many people!

Thus began my long journey to cynicism and skepticism of "know it all" scientists. It all started with the book below.

If you’re Trump, conflating climate and weather makes you an idiot. But if you’re a liberal, using cold weather to prove climate change makes you a brilliant scientist.

It’s ridiculous that Erlich wasn’t sacked by Stanford long ago.

Ditto for Michael Mann, and any number of other frauds wearing the academic mantle.

Common sense gets dropped when they say that such-and-such year is the coldest or warmest on record. We’ve only been keeping modern weather statistics for about 150 years, if that, and the earth is - what? - a billion or more years old. Climate-change fanatics suddenly become Young Earthers.

"The Ocean is apparently rising everywhere, except for in Montecito California."

This isn't a scientific observation, but a lot of the West Coast has steep hills and/or cliffs right up to the ocean's edge. This suggests to me that seismic, tidal, and weather activity makes the shoreline very unstable: in many areas, it doesn't stay in place long enough to erode away, but periodically collapses all at once. A few hundred years ago, an earthquake made a 20-foot change in Puget Sound in a matter of minutes, which is why much of the coastline consists of cliffs.

A climate-induced sea level rise of an inch every two hundred years - even if true - would be among the least of my worries if I lived near the coast.

What can’t global warming do? It’s power is amazing. It’s almost like it’s being made up as time goes on.

I ran across this comment online today...

Carl Isaac Chua... "As someone who fully understands climatology the amount of stupidity in the comments is as awful as global warming itself."

The hubris of this guy to claim to 'fully understand climatology" elicited a mighty belly laugh

Carl...

"They are leftist hacks with impressive-sounding degrees but they are just plain silly in their beliefs like most libtards."

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following from related threads.

Leftist hacks are not only following unconstitutional federal funding for politically correct global warming imo, but many other things as well, especially during the lawless Obama Administration.

For example, colleges are likewise following unconstitutional federal funding though federal grants and loans for education.

More specifically, note that Pres. Thomas Jefferson had officially clarified that the states would first need to appropriately amend the Constitution to give Congress the specific power to tax and spend for INTRAstate schooling purposes for example, something that the states have never done.

On a few articles of more general and necessary use, the suppression in due season will doubtless be right, but the great mass of the articles on which impost is paid is foreign luxuries, purchased by those only who are rich enough to afford themselves the use of them. Their patriotism would certainly prefer its continuance and application to the great purposes of the public education, roads, rivers, canals, and such other objects of public improvement as it may be thought proper to add to the constitutional enumeration of federal powers [emphases added].”—Thomas Jefferson : Sixth Annual Message to Congress

A previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting Supreme Court justices had reflected Jefferson’s words, clarifying that Congress is prohibited from appropriating taxes in the name of state power issues.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States."Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

What’s going on is that the ill-conceived 17th Amendment opened "Pandora’s Box" in the following way imo. Instead of killing House appropriations bills that steal state revenues as the Founding States had intended for the Senate to do, corrupt senators are now doing the following.

Career senators are getting themselves elected and reelected by promising low-information voters social spending programs in exchange for their votes, such voters evidently not understanding that the feds never had the express constitutional authority to establish most domestic federal spending / loan programs.

Patriots are reminded that the ultimate federal tax reduction plan includes repealing the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments (16 & 17A) imo. Patriots should be working with their state lawmakers to support Pres. Trump in leading the states to repeal 16 & 17A.
