We're spending billions of dollars on a disease that is mostly preventable.

The only people who should get assistance is those who contract AIDS through no fault of their own (bad blood transfusion, for example).

Treating AIDS is very expensive. Most of that burden falls either on taxpayers or health insurance rate payers. The advent of "civil unions" and forced coverage of same sex "partners" coincides with skyrocketing healthcare costs. We're being scammed to subsidize treatment of AIDS/HIV. Those who were faultless in passively contracting the disease from a blood based product should have remedy against the supplier of the infected material for ongoing support for that assault. Those who recklessly engage in same sex behaviors and abuse of IV drugs should not be getting subsidized treatment. Making the suppliers of the passive infective agents accountable will give them good cause to be a lot more careful.
