The one time popular mall, Tampa Bay Center, ended up losing its tenants, closed the doors and was eventually razed. Yes, I also heard that during college games that were played at the stadium, the mall had to close during that time because of the feral behavior of the visiting fans.

In fact that was what pushed the issue to the tipping point as I recall.
There was some kind of annual game between two black colleges and the "fans" swamped the parking lot and the mall driving real shoppers away.
And as soon as corrective action was taken - BAM!
Out comes the race card!
