A new survey shows that Germans are losing patience with Frau Merkel, after she has failed to form a new government three months after the national election.

The poll, conducted by YouGov for the German Press Agency, shows that 47 percent of respondents want Angela Merkel to step down from her office as German Chancellor before the next national election, scheduled to take place in 2021.

Meanwhile, only 36 percent said that if Merkel is eventually re-elected as Chancellor, that she should stay in office for the full four years.

The results of the poll show a marked drop in public support for the Chancellor over a period of three months. In the weeks after the national election on September 24th, just 36 percent of respondents said that they wanted Merkel to stand down early, with 44 percent expressing the desire to see her complete the full four years. …

The German election system is carefully designed to insulate the leaders from the electorate, and to prevent the people from being able to make big changes in the direction of the government.

A post Hitler reform done for good reasons. It was meant to shield the nation from the next Hitler. But now maniacs like Merkel are using this shield as a way to abuse the nation.

When it comes to government, Germany has given the world nothing but ignorance and misery. Monarchs, Prussian crap, Communism, Nazism, and now Merkelism.

I thought she had to form a government or step aside. Or that Parliament can dissolve the government at any time and get a new election. if she built a minority government. What this about being in limbo until ‘21?

The other half wants her flat out executed. They just don’t vote that way. Go figure.

I call BS. If they really wanted to get rid of Merkel, they could have done so years ago.

No, they really can’t. Go spend an interesting hour reading about the German system of government. It’s a real snakepit...and by design.

Actually we’ve bee sold a false narrative on the nature of German Imperial government. It was not particularly oppressive compared to say the Russian Imperial system (Even that is very mild compared to the coming Soviet standard!) There was a wider degree of voter suffrage in Imperial Germany then in Great Britain. Think about it people in Kaiser Bill’s Germany had wider voting rights then people in our democratic partner Great Britain! Imperial Germany’s primary problem was Germans were easy to dislike and the Kaiser was a petulant class A immature jerk! Get some books on the Imperial German period very interesting reading and in reflection shows the power of propaganda. Imperial Germany was aggressively self confident. In international affairs but so was Britain and France.
