Mueller probe outgrows its ‘witch hunt’ phase
Yahoo! News ^ | December 27, 2017 | Michael Isikoff | Chief Investigative Correspondent

Posted on 12/27/2017 6:16:59 AM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

Steve Bannon’s eyes lit up. Several months before he left his job as a senior White House adviser last August, Bannon was talking to President Trump about the brewing political storm over the Justice Department investigation into his campaign’s alleged ties to the Kremlin. Suddenly, Trump had an inspiration. He looked straight at Bannon, jabbed at him with his finger and uttered the phrase that would become the slogan of the White House pushback against the Russia probe: “Witch hunt!”

Brilliant, thought Bannon, as he later related the exchange to colleagues.

Ever since, it is a phrase Trump has returned to time and again — and repackaged with typical Trumpian hyperbole. “This is the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!” Trump tweeted last May after ex-FBI director Robert Mueller was appointed as Justice Department special counsel to oversee the probe.

But now, as Trump prepares to end his first year in office, the witch hunt narrative may have outlived its usefulness. Mueller’s investigation has expanded and gained serious traction: The president’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, and Manafort’s chief deputy, Rick Gates, have been indicted. His former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, has pleaded guilty and is now a cooperating witness. So too is a former foreign policy adviser, George Papadopoulos, who has admitted lying to the FBI about repeated contacts with alleged Russian cutouts who had offered the Trump campaign “dirt” on Hillary Clinton in the form of “thousands of emails.”

Especially since it actually is a witch-hunt, politically motivated and so far producing nothing of substance.

say what they may - it was and is a “witch hunt.” That’s a fact that cannot honestly be denied.

Trump should issue an executive order making his birthday a national holiday just to see the heads of the left explode.

They knew there was no “Russia collusion.” The purpose of Mueller’s investigation is to manufacture process crimes, culminating in charging Trump with manufactured obstruction of justice crimes.

Its funny that Mueller has no interest in looking at the real and actual Russian collusion. Nor has the press any interest in it.

Yes, the investigation is gaining traction in the liberal left’s alternative universe. Thankfully there is a Creator God in charge of His universe and through His Son Jesus we may know the Truth (Jesus) and be set truly free with the aid and comfort of His Holy Spirit. Saved by grace through faith lest any man should boast! This Christmas season let us pray for lost and seek.God’s will for our nation and His grace, protection, and guidance for those in positions of authority that our nation might be blessed.

It has not gained traction but is now being recognized by the National Security apparatus as a illegal coup and is now being exposed and in the process of being dismantled.

If you want collusion, you could look at Uranium One, Joule Energy, Podesta Group, Clinton Foundation, Fusion. You could look at the Ukrainian oil and gas company. You could look at the Saudis, Qataris, Turks, Muslim Brotherhood, and the Chinese. There is lots of collusion going around, just not where they are looking.

Dear Michael Isikoff,

Since you are such a cracker jack reporter, I feel duty bound to inform you that you made several GLARING mistakes.

1. The president’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, and Manafort’s chief deputy, Rick Gates, have been indicted.

You are correct. However, you failed to mention that these indictments were for actions unrelated to the Trump campaign AND predated their involvement with the campaign. That is an oversight worthy of job dismissal.

2. His former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, has pleaded guilty and is now a cooperating witness.

Again, correct but INCOMPLETE information. His guilty plea was for lying, and his lies had nothing to do with the campaign or Russian collusion. He lied about legal conversations that he had with Russian officials.

3. So too is a former foreign policy adviser, George Papadopoulos, who has admitted lying to the FBI about repeated contacts with alleged Russian cutouts who had offered the Trump campaign “dirt” on Hillary Clinton in the form of “thousands of emails.”

Wow, you are 3 for 3. Papadopoulus forwarded his information AND WAS REJECTED BY THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN. This guys was beyond stupid. He lied about something that EXONERATES Trump as it relates to the “Collusion” narrative.

Amazing, isn’t it. You report that the investigation is serious now, when in fact ALL the evidence REINFORCES the “witch hunt” theory.

Consider: Decades ago, I read Isikoff’s stuff and considered him a real investigative reporter.

Little did I know it was all part of a gigantic scam on the entire United States, aimed at a complete takeover of all the U.S. institutions.

Well, better late than never.

Now I know he is a complete political activist B.S. artist.

“Witch Hunt” is still a perfectly correct phrase that he should continue to use, although he has also recently referred to it as a “Democratic Hit Job” which is a little more precise. Most accurate at this point would be to call it "trying to frame the President with crimes they were guilty of" although that gets a little too long for a simple slogan.

Isn’t Michael Isikoff the one who spiked the Lewinsky story?

I believe he is the bastard.

The article is unintentionally correct. It has entered the phase of unmasking rogue FBI agents that have committed multiple crimes to surveil the Trump campaign and transition team and then attempted a coup.

Too precise. McCain is a technically not a Democrat, and he is neck deep in the dossier garbage.

Isikoff can’t plead ignorant either. Here he is conducting an interview of Roger Stone just last week, where Roger laid bare the actual conspiracy that took place in 2016:

They have the nerve to complain about the term witch hunt, a term THEY made famous in this context.
