Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., said she is worried that President Trump is attempting to "shut down" all vestiges of the federal government other than the presidency, effectively paving the way for a dictatorship.
The congresswoman pointed to Trump's recent attacks against the Justice Department and FBI as evidence. "I am concerned that the president of the United States is systematically trying to shut down every possible branch of government but the Presidency,” Speier said.

Rep. Jackie Speier said on Tuesday that Trump should be removed from office with the 25th Amendment, following his latest comments blaming “many sides” for violence after white nationalist protests in Charlottesville, Va.
“POTUS is showing signs of erratic behavior and mental instability that place the country in grave danger,” Speier tweeted Tuesday night. “Time to invoke the 25th Amendment.”
Speier also quoted from Voltaire in a tweet: “Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”

Since the mid-1970s...there’s been probably thirty threats to shutdown the government, with some occurring and some being delayed.
I would suggest that if this individual does believe that dictatorships are driving government shutdowns then all they have to do is set into motion a permanent funding vehicle where nothing can ever shutdown the government.

Bad enough this person is an elected official must they get a bigger platform than they already have. Post election is was cute but now it’s beyond ridiculous. Trump, more than his predecessor is obeying every judgement from the judiciary even when he would be completely justified in ignoring blatant attacks against the institution of the Presidency. He has referred to them even when he really doesn’t have enough to. This rhetoric should not be given a platform.

The branches that Trump does not run are the Legislative Branch (the do-nothing branch she is in) and the Judicial Branch (the branch that has overreached multiple times to interfere with Trump’s executive powers and that he has deferred to each time they overreach, despite them intruding on powers that are specifically presidential).
Jackie Speier does not seem to understand that the President of the United States is criticizing the damage done to the Executive Branch by the usurper who preceded President Trump in our White House. He is trying to restore the rule of law and constitutionally-limited government. That restoration of the balance of power is why the corrupt Deep State is resisting our elected leader so vociferously.
