It isn’t difficult to find out if you will save money using any number of tax cut calculators out there. We’re retired too and we’ll be saving quite a bit. Almost as good, I won’t have to buy turbo tax and spend 20+ hours figuring our taxes.
My husband retired in 1979 from the army and usually when the military gets a raise the retirees usually do too. I guess we’ll have to wait when his statement from the army comes. He does get a $5.00 raise on his SS check, but the premium that the ss takes out for medicare went up also. I don’t get any raise for my ss, but the premium for my medicare went up.
Between fairly high property taxes, a lot of excess medical expenses just from the monthly premiums (the Under 65 medical policies aren't cheap), and cash charitable contributions, we won't.
But that's okay because we deserve it! /s
