Republicans and Democrats are scrambling in the final days of 2017 to establish their own narratives on multiple Russia investigations and the integrity of the investigators, a partisan messaging battle that has intensified as special counsel Robert Mueller has appeared to focus more intently on President Donald Trump and his inner circle.
Congressional Republicans who have endured almost a year’s worth of speculation and investigations into Trump’s ties to Russia are hoping to move on from that topic in 2018, renewing focus on Democrat Hillary Clinton and stepping up criticism of Mueller. Democrats remain focused on Trump and are pushing to keep congressional investigations on Russia going for months to come.
Typifying the intense partisan rancor surrounding the investigations, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi pressed Speaker Paul Ryan Friday to keep the House probe intact. “Political haste must not cut short valid investigatory threads,” Pelosi asserted in a letter to the Wisconsin Republican. “Key questions about foreign interference in our elections remain, and must be thoroughly investigated,” she wrote.
Ryan appoints members of the intelligence committee, and could pressure the panel to extend the investigation. But he has largely stayed away from discussing it. …

Any casual observer is seeing that the actual collusion in the 2016 election was between Fusion-GPS’ Russian-and-Urine soaked phony dossier, the FBI, the DNC, and the Clinton campaign. There has been no evidence of a Trump-Kremlin connection that would have swung the election. Other than normal Democrat-on-Democrat ballot box corruption, and some routine 1960’s patterns of Russian disinformation, this was a campaign that simply had a loser - Hillary. Pelosi wants a Trump conviction - period - even when there is no evidence and in intentionally blind to the myriad corruption and solid evidence with the DNC and the Obama Deep State operators.

I love the media’s claim that this is all about searching for the truth, because Trump certainly knows the truth of the matter. It’s not like he wouldn’t know if he actually colluded with the Russians or not, right? In other words, the media is flat out implying that Trump is a liar whenever they claim they only want to know the truth. They—and we—already know the truth in fact.
