enate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell suggested Tuesday he will only bring an immigration bill to the Senate floor if it matches President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.
The proposed re-alignment with Trump and his populist supporters was included in a Wednesday statement by McConnell, and undercut retiring GOP Sen. Jeff Flake’s claim on early Wednesday that McConnell had agreed to an amnesty vote in January.

my own uninformed personal take (from deep flyover country lol):
passing the tax cut gives trump major street cred with DC types.
barring a major catastrophe or major scandal (that is, now unlikely given a year of digging by mueller has produced no smoking gun to date), the success of trump’s first term is all but assured in history. trump can no longer be labeled incompetent or stupid by anyone worth paying attention to. in addition, it boosts trumps chances of winning a second term tremendously.
this is because the tax cut win will feed on its own success economically and people will feel it in their pocketbook and in the large expected number of new jobs. trump will become much more popular than he is now, and no amount of msm propaganda or democrat party whining can prevent it.
the republican wing of the deep state party has been given an ultimatum. get on board the trump train because it is pulling out of the station, with or without you on board.
unlike before the tax cut got passed by the senate in the saturday morning passage a week ago, trump is now (hopefully) the defacto leader of the republican party and the deal breaker.
deal breaker -> deal broker.
Hopefully, it’s not a trade to get DACA/amnesty passed...

I reckon Jus soli cannot be killed off as constitutional bickerings by the staunch leftists (who hate the document, but will defend it to their death if it is convenient to do so) would linger in judiciary purgatory until the next ice age.
So... breaking the chain migration issue would be the next logical priority.
Is “the wall” moving forward? Are sensors and troops being deployed? Has Mexico been fined?

Winning. It’s contagious. We need to face the fact that the MSM and Democrats are nothing but bullies and Trump has taught the party how to fight back. They just need to do it instead of hearing, “why are you hitting yourself?”

Pass DACA with the provision that it doesn’t happen until the wall is 100% completed. Throw that back at the Democrats and La Raza. If they say no, then the entire country knows the rats are about open borders, taking jobs from Americans and the illegal voting.
