Women are drinking large quantities of “medicinal teas” and serving their families “essential oils” in the food they prepare and the hygiene products they create. And then when someone gets sick Mom doubles down on her voodoo until the Emergency Room is the last hope. I understand there is “a sucker born every minute” and, with a little legitimate research, the dangers are already knowable, but a little sunshine on the underbelly of this unregulated beast could save a lot of people money and health.

I am not a woman. I have not had so much as a cold sine O educated myself in 2001. Yes. 2001. That after being regularly on antibiotics twice a year since a child for respiratory infections and inflammation.
I was by all appearance healthy and athletic. But plagued and run down. You wish like Obama to regulate me back into modern medicine. Modern medical care that i am forced to pay for but don’t use.
They don’t get that. Many pharmaceuticals have a plant origin, but who can tell what concentration of active ingredients exists in those plants. The dose differentiates the poison from the remedy. This simple dose concept seems to be void in the homeop believers. They simply do not get it. It’s a nature is always good thing and they can’t fathom the difference between a gentle breeze and a tornado. There is always a customer for snake oil.

Way too broad a stroke, GVG. My husband had high blood pressure.. notice I said had. He initially took the pharmaceuticals and felt sick all the time. He takes L-Arginine plus now (it’s a powder you mix into water) and his blood pressure is normal (and a bit lower). No side effects... He actually was advised to try this drink by a doctor friend he knows. What is wonderful about this is his regular doctor is now discussing the powder with his patients to try before the prescription. Big pharmaceuticals hate homeopathic meds and for good reason... it cuts their bottom line. Granted... not everything is good out there but I tend to see people as intelligent and do their homework/research. Look at any RX and view the side effects... plus, look at the cost.
I thought FR was about personal freedom.
I am always stunned when posters on this site oppose the idea of an adult being able to decline medical treatment, refuse vaccines, or choose their own alternative treatments.
Everybody repeat after me: The government knows best! The government is here to help you!
