Investigators say McCabe recounted to the panel how hard the FBI had worked to verify the contents of the anti-Trump dossier and stood by its credibility. But when pressed to identify what in the salacious document the bureau had actually corroborated, the sources said, McCabe cited only the fact that Trump campaign adviser Carter Page had traveled to Moscow. Beyond that, investigators said, McCabe could not even say that the bureau had verified the dossiers allegations about the specific meetings Page supposedly held in Moscow. The money sentence. The FBI stands by the veracity of the dossier.

The money sentence.

Indeed. THE FBI STANDS BY THE CREDIBILITY OF THE DOSSIER.
It will be about all we hear about this meeting from the MSM. Assuming we hear anything at all. And we will never hear from them that he could only name one very unimportant example of a verification.

How can you stand by something you can't corroborate? And that you know is a piece of campaign opposition research, not an intelligence document? McCabe is only saying that he stands by the dossier because if he says he knew it was garbage and he obtained a FISA warrant based on it, he knows he may be going to prison.

That McCabe must stand by the dossier’s credibility means that he cannot say as Comey did that it is not trustworthy at all.
Why?
That suggests to me that it WAS used in getting the FISA warrant and he cannot acknowledge that they misled the FISA court. That would be a criminal act.
