So what is stopping Doug Emerson from making an $8,000 contribution to St. Jude’s, Sloan-Kettering, the Shriner’s or any other worthy medical cause of his choice?

Doug Emerson just wants to bitch, moan, and complain. Donating his tax savings to some charity (or even handing Benjamins to bums on the street) requires actual effort. It requires him to take responsibility for his life. It requires him to make moral choices.

This will not do.

Doug is the type of person that ascribes mythic-level wisdom to government in spite of overwhelming evidence that it is heavily populated with greedy, inept idiots that would never survive in the private sector (for reference, see Sheila Jackson-Lee and Joe Biden). He wants to government to spend his $8,000 for him because on some level he has faith they will make the better choice. Doug is a dolt.

I know liberals like this. They are also atheists, and whether they realize it or not they have filled that gap with government. Sad, really.

Nothing is stopping the hypocrites from writing a check. They should change all of the 1040 forms and include a block that reads “If you’re a socialist and think everyone else should pay more taxes, check here” and they will automatically pay double!
