Know what? If I can walk down that street when everyone is indoors and not be able to tell that it is a "black" neighborhood, I'll say "Take 'em down". But if the condition of the homes is such that the view wouldn't be meaningful, I'd say leave the trees.
If I had only known how easy this approach would be...

Ik,r? I’d say those folks not taking care of their property, letting the hood deteriorate into a war zone, graffiti & trash are the real reasons why they haven’t been “accumulating wealth in their property over the past half century.”
But by all means, cut down those racist racist trees! When those errant golf balls start doing drive-bys, watch them change their tune.
Unintended consequences are typically the result of either not thinking things through or seeing reality through a tainted lens.

My parents had a condo on a golf course, and within a year day had filled a ktichen sized garbage can with golf balls found in his yard.
Glad that Dad didn’t have to take care of the yard, can only imagine what it’s like when you run the mower over a few golf balls. I mean, do you yell FORE before cutting the grass?
This is the golf course that tried out the Robot Caddies. At first the members loved them since the Robot Caddie would observe its player hitting balls on the range and then give the player club selection advice, exact distance to target and stance alignment instructions. Those players electing to use the Robot Caddies saw their handicaps plummeting and their golf gambling wallets fattening. Then things changed when a couple of patrons complained about sun glare from the Robot Caddies’ stainless steel bodies and the course Head Professional ordered his crew to spray paint every Robot Caddie flat black. The next morning the Head Pro came in before sunrise to open the shop and found the cash register emptied and all the shop inventory gone. And the Robot Caddies had vanished.
