Britain just betrayed America at the United Nations

Haley berated UN member states for their hypocrisy. On the one hand, she noted, they complained that Trumps decision prejudges final-status issues. On the other, she said, they rely on the United Nations, despite being disproportionally hostile to Israel, to weigh in on all kinds of issues regarding Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking.
Prior to the vote, knowing full well Haley would veto the proposed resolution, Rycroft and other envoys from American-allied countries worked behind the scenes to make sure the United States would stand alone in opposition. They watered down the language, weeded out explicit anti-American statements and dutifully anchored the text in past council resolutions.
Haley wasnt buying it. Buried in diplomatic jargon, some presume to tell America where to put our embassy, she said, reminding council members the US contributes more to Palestinian causes than they do.

The U.N. is still trying to do what Hitler did. Not exactly what it was founded for, but things change.

So if they'd make the language more condemnatory and tougher on us they'd be our friends?

The U.N. is still trying to do what Hitler did.Funny how NATO covers the same area as the Reich before Russia was attacked.

The US should leave the UN and tell it to get out of NY. It is nothing more now than a tool for the left.

Why are we still part of the UN? Same reason our State Department is filled with anti-American Marxists.

Britain needs to pay a price for this one. The challenge is to cause them pain, but not drive them any further into the arms of the Muslims or back into the EU.

Great Britain has their own interests, and sometimes they don't coincide with ours.
I'll bet most Freepers don't know the remarkable scenario that played out with the Suez Canal crisis in 1956. That dispute involved Israel, Great Britain and France on one side, and the U.S., Egypt, and -- imagine this -- the Soviet Union on the other.

No, the thankless Brits were removing explicit anti-American statements so other nations couldn’t hang their hat on that to vote with us.
They made sure we would be the only vote against the resolution. The Brits screwed us yet again.
