Oh goodness I had not thought of those underground trains!!
Ugh!

While it is frustrating that my daughter is stuck on a plane on the tarmac, I would much rather her be there than on those trains!

Still not hearing from her.....

I have been scanning the airport Facebook pages and twitter stuff.

People are saying that cell and WiFi services are down also. No electricity at all. No charging stations up.

Saw report of fire in an electrical area that also burned out the generators. Other reports say it’s a construction crew that cut the line from substation.

No flights in or out.

All of the ATL airport is connected by the underground trains and walkways. Evacuating the far reaching terminals means everyone must schlep down the steep halted escalators into darkness, walk long distance, then, if their hearts are still able, climb up multi-story escalators.

Had the unfortunate experience of climbing one of the escalators when it stopped shortly after getting onto it. Lugging 40lbs of luggage too. Miserable.
