Do you know if prosecutors have immunity in the UK?

I do not know if prosecutors have immunity in the UK, however, private attorneys often act as prosecutors. It’s like public defenders in the U.S., mostly public officials, but an indigent defendant may be assigned a private attorney in the U.S. In the U.K. any attorney admitted to practice can be called upon to prosecute.* Some lawyers may prosecute as many cases as they defend.

It is my impression - though I cannot prove it - that British prosecutors are more committed to justice, they are not necessarily career prosecutors, and do not make their bones by taking as many scalps as possible.

*Rumpole never prosecutes.
