Legalizing 2 million illegal immigrant Dreamers would cost the government $25.9 billion over the next decade, as those now-legal people would claim more tax, education and other benefits they havent been able to get before, the Congressional Budget Office said Friday.
The CBO also said newly legalized Dreamers would sponsor 80,000 more immigrants to enter the country as part of chain migration.
Immigrant-rights activists have argued that legalizing Dreamers would be a financial boon to the country, but the CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation suggested otherwise, saying that while they would pay somewhat higher taxes in to the government, they would take far more out of it.

That 80,000 number is low by a factor of perhaps 50.
PING
Translation: $260 billion....800,000 additional illiterates
The rats will not support the tax bill before them now because all of a sudden they are worried about the deficit. However, they don’t think $26 billion would do any harm proving once again that liberalism is a mental disease leading to insanity.
Yes, whatever the real number is, you can bet it’s exponential.
“That 80,000 number is low by a factor of perhaps 50”
Yep, and more than likely the dollar number as well. Do these clowns ever get audited.
Exactly.
Legalizing them--and the entire open-door, chain migration immigration policy--is a Democrat Party strategy to establish a permanent Democrat majority in America. Giving immigrants generous welfare benefits is an integral part of the strategy.
Obviously, if all these immigrants were potential Republican voters, the Democrats would have slammed the door many years ago.
It's the same strategy with which Julius Caesar seized control of the Roman Republic and established the Roman Empire, with all its horrors: give the masses "bread and circuses", and the ruling oligarchy will live in luxury.
(And don't forget, Tiberius was the second Roman Emperor, Caligula the third, Nero the fifth.)
Same could have been said about freed slaves by Lincoln.
The Rats never complained about deficit spending in the past. It’s only brought up now, because they will bring up any argument so long as it resists Trump. They are like children who always find new excuses.
Democrats: “This is going to cost the middle class more!”
Republicans: “Actually, no. The middle class will benefit because of the increased standard deduction and child tax credits.”
Democrats: “Yeah, well...it will increase the deficit!”
Watching the tv show drugs inc. The drug dealers want their children born here so they can carry on in the family business. That’s the dream.
If the Democrats really want to legalize the Dreamers, then they need to give up something very important in return, i.e. build the wall, crack down on businesses that hire illegals, deport non-Dreamers, eliminate the visa lottery, reduce legal immigration, etc. Pass the RAISE Act, and then we can talk about hard cases, like the Dreamers.
“The Greatest Generation” will never be repeated because of our development of the birth control pill. IMHO.
BEFORE anything else.
And how many more millions of democrat votes in cities in the South and Southwest to flip red to blue States?!!
Why aren’t the politicians in Washington wringing their hands and crying ‘How will we pay for this’? Or is that only for tax cuts
What is most interesting about this is the fact that CBO even crunched the numbers AND reported them.
This would have never happened in a previous administration.
A lost opportunity for sure.
For a little while I thought it would be okay to let the 800k DACA's stay but never become citizens unless they went to their home country and applied like anyone else so they could never vote and never bring in more illegals through chain migration but now I just want them to go home. Period. End of story.
That’s what I first noticed. On average, each immigrant sponsors two others. I’m sure the DACA people will be sponsoring about twenty parents, plus siblings, some kids, each. Two million will easily turn in to five or six million.
