The German economy will expand by 2.6 percent next year, the Ifo institute said on Thursday in its updated forecast for Europes economic powerhouse, pointing to a broad upswing that is generating record-high employment and buoyant tax revenues.
The surprisingly bullish projection - a hike from Ifos previous estimate of 2.0 percent for 2018 - comes despite a political stalemate, with Chancellor Angela Merkel struggling to form a coalition government nearly three months after a federal election.

It very well could. We haven’t had any real growth (almost all fed pumping) for most of the Obama years.
Trump is making energy more abundant worldwide and has lowered energy prices for everyone. Abundant energy and the great American economy are a tide that has raised all ships, including the German economy.
A weak German economy will always increase the pressure to lift sanctions on Russia.
Wonder if that’s their “new normal”.
All that cheap foreign labor.
