“Simple: Because women have weaponized the legal system.”
I cannot disagree with you.
Not sure a man can rape a wife.
Bible says a man’s body belongs to her and vice versa.
I do see your points though.
“... not sure a man can rape a wife”.
Legally they can. Think about some of the men who beat their wives and kids. Rape is power... it does happen. The bible isn’t going to save him either if he goes to court. The ones that do go to court have pictures usually of a beaten woman and a rape kit showing bruising/tearing etc...
I'm not sure that the Bible can be taken 100% literally in all passages. The passage you refer to might be symbolic, rather than "literal",in nature.Another example of probably "symbolic" context is that the Heavens and the Earth were created in six days.
I've never been of the opinion that my wife is *obliged* to "give herself" to me at my every whim.I'm strongly inclined to believe that it's illogical,if not downright wrong, for either one to see their spouse as "property".
Just sayin'...
I think he was thinking more in the Biblical sense than the legal sense. But as I said in Post #24 I’m strongly inclined to believe that God doesn’t want people to see their spouse as “property”.
I take it at face value, but if a man is loving his wife as Christ himself loved the church, then there won’t be any issues anyways.
I agree completely! In my humble opinion, God doesn’t want any spouse to cheat or abuse physically, sexually or verbally. In my humble opinion, God doesn’t want parents to hurt their children in that type of way either.
I was talking a man who loves his wife as Christ loves the church. A man like that is not beating his wife etc. A man doing those things is no man of God.
My comment can only be taken for the kind of man I described in the first sentence.
“..a man who loves his wife as Christ loves the church”.
Beautifully said, B! I think about how many social issues we have today and just think if we lived like God wanted us to... there would be few problems. As we (as a country) lose our faith... we lose more and more of our humanity. (((Hugs))) Mom
” but hormones are still hormones.”
... and promises are still promises. Mistakes don’t happen on purpose.
Quick question.
When I bring up the idea of going back to the need to have women dressing more modest, I get screamed at by the feminists.
Could be that I am right?
Thanks!
Yes,in a good marriage...one based on genuine love and respect...there won't be an "issue".But there could be occasional mild disappointments.Men (and women) do occasional experience back pain...or have the flu...or have a headache.I know that when I have the flu there are lots of things that I'd very much rather not do.I suspect the same is true for most women.
Just sayin'....
I posit that the best Breakfast Beer for a breakfast date rape would be a hearty oatmeal stout or maybe a porter for our cold winter mornings.
Am I a horrible person for mocking these weirdos? Wait, don’t answer that.
You mean: "That's why I ask my fellow-women to dress modestly."?
Regards,
...there was an epidemic of underreported "date rape" on college campuses.
On campus? This girl is a student? Just wondering, what's her GPA?
Did she make him a sammich and iron his shirt, too? 'Cause that's the trifecta of "pwned".
“Because women have weaponized the legal system.”
Yes, and they are using this weapon to deny men, especially white men, access to higher education. It is an economic death sentence imposed by feminist lynch mobs.
It might be a promise, but it would still be a bad mistake.
What promises are you talking about?
You mean yogi pants and a wet T-shirt aren’t modest?
I find a modestly dressed woman classy and I think it shows self respect.
Those are good qualities, I’d say you’re right.
Of course if feminists are screaming at you, whatever you’re doing is probably right heh.
We need a big revival. We also need Christian men to start being Christian men. We wouldn’t have many issues at all if these men were vigilant instead of being caught up in the old working and providing and going to church on Sundays.
I told my folks I blame Christian men, especially baby boomers, but I blame myself too. I spent too much time in my 20s not being situationally aware.
