Sen. John McCain was admitted Wednesday to Walter Reed Hospital for "normal side effects" of his cancer treatments, his office said in a statement. "As ever, he remains grateful to his physicians for their excellent care, and his friends and supporters for their encouragement and good wishes," the statement said.

McCain is currently receiving treatment for glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. The 80-year-old was diagnosed in July.

In an interview with Lesley Stahl for "60 Minutes" in September, McCain spoke about facing the tough diagnosis. "They said that the prognosis is very, very serious. Some say 3 percent, some say 14 percent. You know, it's -- it's a very poor prognosis," he said. "So I just said, 'I understand. Now we're going to do what we can, get the best doctors we can find and do the best we can.' And at the same time celebrate with gratitude a life well lived."

Earlier Wednesday, McCain's daughter, Meghan, a co-host of "The View," grew tearful as she interviewed former Vice President Joe Biden, whose son Beau died from glioblastoma in 2015.

"There's a lot of things happening," Biden told Meghan McCain. "There's breakthroughs occurring now ... It could happen."

A normal side effect of brain cancer? Dementia? Death? Upset tummy?

Can they be a little more specific. Not enough info for the pool.

Because of past personal experience I only gave him 6 months——that would be next month.

I think most folks know what my thoughts on John McCain are, and I generally don’t mince words and go over the line from time to time.

I’m not glad he is dying. I am glad his destructive actions will be absent the halls of Congress for the first time since the 70s.

Yes it has been 40 years now that John has been a pox on this nation. I don’t believe we’ll ever know the full extent of it either.

God will.

As we confront John facing his Judgement Day, it’t not too early to flash forward to our own.

Well that’s got to make the dems happy - he won’t be voting for the tax bill (assuming he was going to in the first place).

This is how the tax vote gets stalled until Doug Jones is seated.

http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-the-prognosis-of-glioblastoma.htm

Glioblastoma multiforme is the most common type of cancerous tumor originating in the brain. The prognosis of glioblastoma, which indicates how the disease will develop and an individual’s expected survival time, can vary according to age, the tumor’s size and position, the type of treatment received, and what is called the Karnofsky performance status, or KPS. A KPS score measures a person’s ability to perform everyday tasks. Unfortunately, long-term survival of glioblastoma patients is rare and there is currently no cure. The average glioblastoma life expectancy is less than a year, with only around 2 percent of people living for longer than three years after diagnosis.
A glioblastoma multiforme tumor can also be described as a grade four astrocytoma. An astrocytoma is a brain tumor formed from cells known as astrocytes, with grade four being the type which grows most rapidly. Since there is no cure, glioblastoma treatment aims to control symptoms and prolong life, using a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Symptoms may include headaches, nausea, seizures and personality changes.

I wish Mister McCain a successful treatment and a long and happy life.

That said, I would be okay if Mister McCain happened to opt for an immediate and fulfilling retirement.

Perhaps, Mister McCain knows that by actions of his choosing, he is scorned by many true Conservatives, and he will be remembered with ridicule and derision by a vast number of Americans.

His Dem friends? They will probably recall him as...useful.

McCain has not even begun his “real” treatment which is a clinical trial and will happen at an Albuquerque hospital. From what I understand to qualify for the trial he has to fail standard chemo first.

My mom had a brain tumor that had metastasized from her breast cancer. I saw those normal side effects. She lasted just about 1 month after we took her to the hospital. She had quit eating (hid it from us) and I found her almost unconscious. Her blood sugar was so low it wouldn’t even register so an ambulance took her to the hospital. From there the doctor talked her into going to “rehab” because she had lost the ability to walk due to the tumor. About a month later she was gone.

My mom died this summer from brain cancer. She opted for no treatment. They gave her six months. She got six months and six days. I bet he is having seizures.
