This is idiotic. The mountains are on tectonic plates, that float on a molten inner earth. So do the mean relative to the other floating plates or surrounding areas of the same plate? Or do they mean the ocean level that constantly rises and falls? And the ocean that is literally never stable being driven by wind, currents, and even the pull of the moon each day.

Ever wonder how all those monoliths remain accurately aligned with the stars, since the plates are always moving?

I guess “dreamers” would be the right word...dreamers with mental problems.

But with taxing power. 🤡

Changes in the Earth’s rotation (slowing) at some point, reduced the equatorial bulge, putting pressure on the mantle.

Isostatic equilibrium. Possible, but I’d need more data.

They don’t, at least not to within a measurable inch of accuracy. They appear the same to us, even using our instruments. But i assure you, the monoliths are not always perfectly and permanently aligned with the stars.

Most education appears to have become indoctrination, even the sciences.

Totally agree but I'm really concerned about lack of education in the earth sciences. If introductory geology courses were required there'd be no debate about human-caused global warming/climate change. Evidence to the contrary is in the rocks.

I imagine - if all that is true - it has some impact on seismic behavior in California. All that water is a lot of weight & loss of so much water represents a loss of a lot of weight. It must impact plate movements somewhat.
