The GOPe sunk Roy Moore’s battleship. Fratricide.

Trump’s fault for appointing Sessions as AG.

This did not have to happen.

Sessions - disaster
Moore - disaster.

Could have easily picked Rudy or Trey and avoided this mess.

The only person to blame is the candidate himself.

Hannity is not to blame. He is a conservative, but he is still a journalist. He was the first interview Moore did after the Washington Post smear story and he asked fair questions. Moore came off as evasive. Moore should have been better prepared.

Moore needed to get the full truth out right away. His wife is 14 years younger than him (They were married in 1985). When Moore was 30-ish, fresh out of the military and a young lawyer, he probably did date some young women in their late teens or early 20s. In the Alabama in late 1970’s, that probably wasn’t considered inappropriate and certainly not illegal. For most of human history, that wouldn’t have been considered unusual or inappropriate.

In that first interview, Moore needed to clearly acknowledge what was true, and clearly deny the smear of illegal activity.

Also, Moore needed to be out on the campaign trail the last few weeks, rather than hiding and letting Trump campaign for him from beyond the borders of the state. In the end, if 25,000 more conservatives show up to vote for Moore, he is the Senator, flawed or not flawed. An active campaign in the last few weeks would have accomplished that.

Hell to the NO.

Don’t you remember the day before the interview? I do. I was listening to Hannity in the car and I found him over the top supporting Moore and not believing the allegations. My mind was a bit more open. I saw a lot of smoke for the allegations to be completely written off, on day one. I figured the swamp was after this guy, but I was concerned.

And after three hours on radio slavishly defending Moore, he got him on his show the very next day. I missed the interview but I heard the end of Hannity’s radio show after it. I was stunned that Sean was no longer supporting Moore blindly. What had happened? Found out on FR he’d interviewed him. Went to read the transcript.

It was clear why Sean had to moderate his tune. He had tried to pin Moore down as NOT having chosen to date teen girls in his thirties, trying to clear his name from that charge. It is a bad charge, even though your grandmother married at 16. It still doesn’t sound right in 2017.

But Moore had come on Hannity wholly unprepared to respond to this huge question. If Moore is a good man, but did date teens when he was over 30, he would have said so. He is a JUDGE in a very high court. There is no way for him not to know the truth is his BEST FRIEND in cases like this. The truth would have helped him.

“Yes, in my thirties I was attracted to young, of age women, and I even married a younger woman, and once I fell in love with my wife, I never looked at anyone else. We’ve had X blissful years together. I never dated anyone below the age of consent.” Problem disappeared.

But Sean had been turned off by Moore’s equivocal, dishonest answers, which led him to believe Moore was lying or hiding SOMETHING. That just won’t do. Moore was evidently NOT such a great guy in his thirties. A VERY flawed candidate even with the heaps of powdered sugar and halo placed on him by FReepers.

It’s his own fault he lost.

Sean is to blame.

He allowed Moore to go live on the air and give one of the WORST political speeches in recent memory.

Moore made a public spectacle of himself on the Sean Hannity show.

So yeah. Sean is at fault.

(rolls eyes)

In one regard, I honor Moore. And yet, some of his biblical strictness was almost fanatical; borderline Westboro Baptist. Which really clashed with his penchant for younger girls. And what’s with the horse? IT was a pacer, and not bad. SOMEBODY did a good job breaking that pony. But that P.O.S. tack Moore was using. Looked like poor hand-me-down crap after 4 generations. And yanking the reins around like he’d never ridden before. A man of his caliber on a rig like that. The whole image was very disjointed and unattractive. IMHO.

It's SEAN not Shawn. He's only been on Fox News for 20-plus years.

The loss is solely the result of sabotage by the establishment wing of the GOP, who piled on Moore, refused to fund him and orchestrated a write-in campaign.

The establishment wing screwed over the base once again like it did when it undercut Chris McDaniel four years ago in Mississippi.

Only the Republican party goes to war with its base and tries to lose elections, Dems are never stupid to do that.

I didn’t get to see a lot of this election, work and all, but from where I sit, I think Moore was to weak...his interview with Sean was not something a person would be like if it wasn’t true...not saying it is, as it has been proven Nelson lied...but..who wants someone weak???

I used to listen to talk radio 9 hours a day. Glenn Beck, then Rush, then Hannity.

Now I only listen to Alex Jones, usually in bits and pieces as rebroadcast.

Hannity is a JOKE!
First Rubio, then Cruz, then 3rd time is a charm, he finally supports Trump.

Hannity had a falling out with McCain and Hannity kissed McCain’s arse so many times, in so many ways, just to get that bastard McCain back on his shows.

It would not surprise me one bit to find out that Hannity has sexual skeletons in his closet.

It wasn’t just Hannity. It was also McConnell, and other REPUBLICAN Senators, talking about not seating Moore or throwing him out using ethics procedures.

Trump supporting Strange didn’t help either. I don’t blame Trump as he made a deal with that “snake McConnell. If ANYONE should have known better, Trump should have.

“Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin
“You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in”

I heard that interview. Moore was completely unconvincing in his responses. If he didn’t know those women, he should’ve said so from the start.

I wonder if the libs didn’t push for Moore to win in an upset against Strange in the Primaries. They knew he was flawed compared to Strange. I wouldn’t put it past them.

The alleged lesbian editor at the three largest papers in Alabama didn’t help any.

She exacted her pound of flesh.

Well you didn’t want Sean to lose any of his advertisers. How can you expect a guy to live on only $10 million per year?

Oh, get real. Hannity doesn’t have that much sway over Conservative Republicans. Besides, I didn’t even hear him give Mo Brooks much of an endorsement.

As we have seen, over and over again, Republicans too often will sit on their duffs and not vote whenever they don’t like a candidate.

His Christian and conservative credentials aside, Roy Moore, gave terrible interviews after the accusations came out.

In fact, it was Sean Hannity, who gave him a platform to clear his name, and desperately tried to help him in the interview, and yet, Moore botched it up BIG TIME.

Let’s not forget, Roy Moore ran for governor TWICE and lost, so last night should not have really surprised us.

Roy Moore is a good man, but he became a little too cocky for his own good in believing he had it in the bag.

You can’t blame Sean Hannity for Roy Moore being unappealing and the voter not voting.

I blame those Alabamians, who didn’t care enough about the unborn or the President’s agenda to get out there and vote anyway against Doug Jones.
