A top Republican senator is expanding an investigation into the Uranium One deal, demanding documents from the Energy Department and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on the Uranium One deal.
Wyoming GOP Sen. John Barrasso wants to know whether or not former President Barack Obama’s administration intentionally misled him about Uranium One being able to export its product out of the U.S. after it was acquired by Russia.

Unfortunately, senate and congressional investigations aren’t worth spit.
Sorry to say I have lost faith in GOP members actually producing anything of substance.
The democrats would have special prosecutors in place right now making arrests, justifiably or not.
Hate to say it but the GOP is all talk, no action.
And with Sessions as AG, there doesn’t seem to be any prospect of prosecuting high-profile people.
Does there seem to be a tipping point? Trump can not let this coup continue. He needs to act in an expedited fashion. These Gov’t Committees need to cease. There is no outcome favorable to Trump. Get rid of Sessions now and start Indicting people for Sedition/Treason. At the minimum, the subjects need to be removed from Gov’t. Mueller, Comey, McCabe, Rosenstein, Weissman, Ohrs, Strzok, Page, etc... Then get back to the real problems with Hillary & Obama. There is plenty of evidence. There is no will to prosecute. Trump needs to act before its too late.
No, not much can be done now via Congress. McConnell has emerged as a victor in the battle. Last night was a big loss for the President. The prospect of Senate takeover by democrats comes into view.
Here’s one approach outline:
President will now need to adopt WWII MacArthur tactics, “hit ‘em where they ain’t”; bypass the big battles and cut off their supply lines to starve them.
All tactical battle plans to be reviewed on short-timeline by Session’s DOJ for CLEARANCE, green light. Put Sleepy on the spot. Make him liable but make it seem innocuous. Need finesse here. Make Sessions approve plans for legal cover. We don’t care if Sessions is hanged later as a result. He is unknowingly set up as the fall guy in case anything goes wrong.
Biggest problem is McConnell. Need to find a way to take him down at all costs and to have a replacement ready to whip the Senate to do the will of the Trump camp. McConnell has already denied Trump ability to make recess appointments so firing Sessions is a non-sequitur shoot oneself in the foot type of play.
Trump needs to quietly put the screws to McConnell with goal of KY Governor Bevin (who hates McConnell) replacing McConnell with an appointment.
McConnell’s Achilles heel is he is a US Senator with a paycheck of $174,000 per year yet he’s worth more than $28 Million. Have him arrested by Gov Bevin on corruption charges, force him to resign. Do it quickly, like by the end of this month. Get past the media whores screaming of GOP corruption. It will pass well-before 2018 voting season.
Gov Bevin to appoint well-liked but lower profile replacement in by January. McConnell gone means $$$ for his accomplice’s PACS (slush funds that empowered McConn) are up for grabs. McConnell replacement to take control of McConnell’s PAC funds. Find out what PAC money wants and cut a deal (but spank them later). Play dirty but legal.
Prosecute via state AGs sympathetic to Trump Camp the PAC backers (forget Sessions). Prosecute them for anything, spitting on the sidewalk types of charges. Their $$$ control of the US Senate is disrupted. This will make GOP look bad for 2018 so bring them to cut a harsh deal. Make the harsh deal. The deal is they fold in behind Trump or their lawyers get reamed by cutting off their funding (backstab them later on any legal pretext when Trump is in control and they can do nothing).
Trump people need to use friendlies in state governments to put the screws to PAC attorneys; ambush them, high-intensity attacks, local guerrilla warfare, bypass Congress. Consider giving Bannon a chance to redeem himself by stepping up to the bar as a guerrilla commando, but have a backup plan in case Bannon fails again.
Trump can control the Senate by beginning February. Then turn attention on 21 dem senator seats in play. Pull out all the stops and net at least 5+.
While all this is playing out in the background, put the screws to McCabe’s people through Grassley. Grassley wants McCabe’s butt in a sling. But need ground people to come forward to Grassley. McCabe is protected because he is not an appointee, so can’t be summarily fired. He resides in Fairfax County and is protected by democrat Governor McAuliffe. So go after McCabe’s people and let them cop a plea by turning evidence on McCabe.
How to get McCabe lower ranks without Sessions, Congress? One way is through their wives and girlfriends. Play the game. Have Trump women who are legion get after these peripheral women of low-level McCabe lieutenants. Shame them. Only need a handful of McCabe’s network to process evidence against McCabe.
But bear in mind all this Grassley, McCabe, peripheral women play is only for PUBLICITY to provide cover for the background plays of taking over the US Senate for Trump.
