Sounds to me like an “If and when” situation.

”If Moore wins, I stay” and “if Jones wins, hmmm.”

”If Moore loses, then hmmmm.”

He should be forced to stand for vote in Alabama.

Fun to watch.

Ten bucks says that if Moore wins Al won’t be going anywhere.

That's a sure bet.

“Al Franken has yet to announce when he’s actually going to leave office”

That’s because he doesn’t intend to leave. And that makes him a lying lier telling lies.

Notice the chorus who called for him to resign is all quiet now?

Why would Mitch McConnell wait for "the coming weeks" for Franken to take his time about resigning? CNN is reporting that 32 Democrat Senators are calling for Al Franken to resign, so Franken's expulsion is a sure thing.

McConnell could have forced the expulsion vote on Franken last week; he doesn't have to wait for the outcome of the Alabama election. But McConnell didn't do it. He will wait until it best fits HIS needs, instead of controlling the media news cycle for Republicans.

And McConnell's need is to have leverage to force Moore out after he wins in Alabama. Therefore, McConnell will wait until then for Franken to resign, so he can demand a "bipartisan" purge in the Senate. If Franken went last week, the pressure would have been reduced on Moore after he wins. If McConnell ties Moore's expulsion vote to Franken's vote and schedules them for the same day, that will put enormous pressure on the other Republican Senators to vote for Moore's ouster after Franken's.

I assume he stays to the end of the session, around Dec. 22, and they swear in his replacement the same time they swear in the Moore/Jones winner.

He’s not. It was only a ploy to defeat Roy Moore. That’s not working, so, no, Stuart Smalley is going nowhere.

I can live with that. Moore is a Senator. Franken is a constant reminder that the DEMs are slimy and liars. Any possible replacement for Franken would likely be a Muslim, so there is avoiding that BS.

Franken only ‘promised’ to resign, but congress cretins do not feel that they should keep promises.

Franken has the largest ego in the Senate, and that’s saying a lot. That ego will never let him resign.

All I know is that my dream scenario would be to see Franken in public and witness him try and touch my wife. I would tear him apart one limb at a time saving his penis for last. Then I would ask him to laugh and smile like a clown.

You have to be pretty gullible to fall for this scam. Only the democrats could come up with something so devious.

By definition- He has not resigned.
