Can someone - anyone - describe what we’re looking at in this picture? The same one was in another thread earlier but has now been replaced by one with the guy on a stretcher - how that got pulled and replaced by a different one is a mystery to me.
At any rate, I can’t make heads nor tails of which end is which in this picture. Is the white the inside of a jacket and his right arm is thrown back with someone kneeling and taking hold of that right hand? At first I thought it was someone with two heads - one attached and one lying on the floor. HA! Well, too bad that’s not the case! I guess the explosion must have smarted somewhat from the looks of things.
Good for you. I have seen very few former servicemen (including a husband) who have tried to tame that tongue.
I think the white is some kind of lining material from his jacket, or else just a layer of clothing he was wearing. His arms/hands are pulled directly back behind him, probably handcuffed. So the white curve in the foreground is his shoulder?? Or at least that’s how it appears to me....
I am so relieved not to be bombarded with posts that question my eyesight...I have looked at it ten ways from Sunday and finally the last look at the pic posted here, began to sink in.
I know I don’t always see things as others see them - when I see the Batman logo, I see nothing but teeth...
I do try. I think it is when I am alone that I have the hardest time doing it...around other people, I have made good strides.
But when I am by myself...well, I can still be voluble. And in some ways, I find that a bit more disturbing, because it is like that old saying:
“The true test of quality or honesty is what you do when nobody else is watching.”
So I do try. I fail, pick myself up,and start over!

A while back Washington, DC had exploding manhole covers. I think some went as high as 150 feet. No one injured as I recall, but many frightened.
Now all manhole covers in big cities are tack welded down. This is done to prevent them from blasting up into the air in such times.
