My grandparents lived in South Alabama, which can go 5-6 years at a time without measurable snow. As a result, this easily falls in the “unusual” category. Usually, when it does snow in the deep South it is during the heart of Winter (i.e. January) and not early December.
If this had happened up here in Ohio, then I would agree that this is perfectly normal for this time of year. Of course, either way the weather cultists will blame it on BS man-caused Climate Change.
One thing I left out is that the area around Columbus, MS received 6 inches of snow, which is their largest single day snowstorm ever.
