“Wray needs to be fired.”

Wray answered the ONLY way he could. He did not deny what Jordan was saying, he only said he could not respond to the question in the public setting in which the question was asked. And if what Jordan was suggesting is true, then we are dealing with a catastrophic political scandal, and Wray would not want to fan the flames by answering the question as presented. Wray answered EXACTLY how I would have answered had I been in his shoes.

Wray is an opaque swamp dweller.

Jim Jordan and others on the committee disagree. It looks to me like Wray is hiding behind the all too convenient "it's classified" excuse. Tump should address that problem.

Not sure what you mean by fan the flames.

We are learning the FBI and the Justice Department have been behaving like the KGB.

They ignore representative government in the form of congressional investigative committees and all but laugh out loud at the Judicial Committee, for thinking they actually have oversight authority. Certainly, these players show up on time but dismiss every probing question and answer nothing of substance, or with substance.

Wray totally shafted the Judicial Committee. They left the hearing room knowing not one damn thing more than they knew when they first entered the room and plopped down in their fine leather chair.

Wray gave them the middle finger and pledged his job and duty not to the oversight committee but the Inspector General. The Joker was wild. It was embarrassing.

Who the hell elected the Inspector General? Who appointed this Inspector General? Who is THIS IG, by the way? Who recommended him? What’s his history and resume?

How does this IG wield more power over the FBI behaviors than the US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES JUDICIAL AND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE??

Just like the State Department, you can expect the FBI to hide behind some Leftist leaning nerd, an IG made available by the swamp, who will cough up some innocuous avalanche of words that say nothing that reveals nothing, changes nothing, corrects no one, certainly recommends no charges and generally helps whoever hires him, to hide the booty.

Exactly.

Rep. Jordan wasn't there to ask questions. He was there to give answers ... in the form of the questions he was asking Director Wray.

Maybe Wray wants to take his investments out of the market before that bombshell is revealed publicly.

On the one hand I get it about Wray trying to stand up for the competent and hard working folks in the FBI who are doing their jobs. But what he probably does not get is that they know better than anyone how screwed up their organization is and nothing is more demoralizing to competent folks who know how screwed up their orangization it is than have the guy at the top stand up for everyone, when what they want to see is a chain saw wielded against the many minions of the swamp critters who totally deserve it.

What you learn in life is that some organizations need a bankruptcy work-out artiste to clean the place up, but the guys who are good at that are heartless bastards that get paid huge salaries because there are not very many of them.
