Has legal marijuana changed Durango much?
I was surprised to see so many young, able-bodied beggars at gas stations and truck stops a few months ago.
No, no, no. Read your Scriptures more carefully. Read Revelation 3:10, Romans 5:9, 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 1 Thessalonians 5:9. WHAT do each of those have in common and say almost exactly the same thing: “I will also keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world to test those who dwell on the earth.” Who is that? It IS NOT the Church. It is those left on the earth after the Harpazo has occurred. Romans 5:9 “. . . we shall be saved FROM THE WRATH OF GOD THROUGH HIM!!!” Him who? Jesus Christ. 1 Thess 1:10: “. . . that is Jesus, who RESCUES US FROM THE WRATH TO COME.” And 1 Thess 5:9: “God HAS NOT DESTINED US FOR WRATH . . .” I know there are those out there that say the Church of Jesus Christ, the Bride of Christ has to be “purified” (yuk - He did it all on the Cross, so WHY do men think that WE have to do something else. He DID IT ALL, so we need to but out.) The Scriptures are CLEAR. We are NOT destined to see the wrath of God. God’s wrath IS the coming Tribulation. Scripture clearly shows this. I stand with the Scriptures, REGARDLESS of those here who have jumped down my throat 100 times trying to give me 45 reasons using part here and part there of various scriptures. These I have mentioned above are enough. They are clear. They are pure. They say we do not see wrath of God, so I hang on that. He will take me home before He destroys the ungodly of this world. WOULD you want to be a bride, be beaten up for 3 1/2 or 7 years, THEN married to someone???? I don’t think so. Nope. I am solid as the Rock that He stands on, I am pre-trib. I promise to waive bye-bye as I go up to all those who want to stay here and THINK they must do something to be purified by some fire. Nope, I stand on what He said on the Cross on a Hill called Calvary. His last words to us: “IT IS FINISHED!!!” He did it all.
I lived in Farmington and would head up to Durango every weekend. Had tears in my eyes each time I returned to Farmington. (Half way kidding)
It’s turned Durango into a dump.
Our schools aren’t safe.
I worry we will have a Beslan or an attack like in Norway. (I worry a lot less with Trump in the O.O. though!)
More homeless because they come up to buy weed and other drugs and don’t have money to spend on lodging. More crime. A drug deal went bad about 6 months ago and two were killed.
There are no truck stops here.
I understand. Some call it Farmpit.

Probably not appreciated by the families involved.
Not really high profile. I saw it on Facebook but not the evening news.
Have you ever lived in or near Aztec, NM?
Its amazing how much damage you can do when there is no one who can stop you.
Which is one of the two most powerful arguments for the Second Amendment. Americans have the right to protect themselves from mortal danger.
The other Argument being a deterrent against government tyranny. American politicians should always both fear and respect the American public.
I’ll answer for ‘em. No. It’s apparent. I did, BTW. Man, there used to be a breakfast burrito place on the north end of town. Sold monster burritos. And chicken gizzards. Yum! I worked for a wild game butcher place out north of town on the same road as the Center Point Fire Station and we used to get them for breakfast when we started at 6:00 in the morning.
You live in Durango you said. I got a question for ya. I sure thought they changed the name of that ski resort north of town, but last time I was through there (this summer) the sign still said Purgatory.
I used to have access to 160 acres with a creek and cabin on the back side of the mountain. I’d go up, catch a few trout, cook ‘em over a fire, and sleep in the cabin or out by the fire. Good times!
Go see ‘em when the luminarias are lit. (If they still do that.) AMAZING. I did it when it was gently snowing.
I used to live around there. Worked in a wild game butcher shop north of town.
I’ve been to Durango. Stayed at a quaint hotel called the Strator. Rode the Silverton (last car so we could stay warm and eat snacks). Charming little town. Shame what’s happened.
It’s still Purgatory.
I’d bet when you used to go up there to fish and camp you saw few people, too. Yes, Good times!
My cousins ran cattle on the 160 acres in the summer time. They would take them via a semi truck up from their farms in Bloomfield and Aztec to a place just north of where the golf course is now. Kind of stage them there. Then they would haul them a gooseneck load at a time up back into the mountains. One year they were on this farm for a few days, eating fresh alfalfa in a scrubby alfalfa field. This was at the peak of the “Cattle Free By ‘93” insanity. Well, I was in a little pickup truck, following a load of these cattle in. The When cattle go off hay and get on fresh alfalfa, they get the squirts. My cousin passed some bicyclists, and about then a cow lifted her tail and shot cow crap out the side. Plastered a bicyclist. They were screaming and I was laughing. Great memory.
That’s a hilarious story. Thanks for sharing. I’m still chuckling.
I grew up on a ranch and have been hit quite a number of times. lol
