A Saudi Arabian prince is the mysterious buyer who paid a record-breaking $450.3 million for Leonardo da Vincis painting of Jesus Christ.
Bader bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan al-Saud was recently discovered to be the buyer of da Vincis painting Salvator Mundi, The New York Times reports.
Prince Badars purchase of the image of Christ comes at a time when elite Saudis are highly concerned about an ongoing purge of influential national figures at the bequest of the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman. Badar is reportedly a close friend and confidant of the crown prince, who is already well-known for making extravagant purchases well into the hundreds of millions.

That’s some sweet feel-good Islamic propaganda we have here.
He MUST be on MbS’s good side or he wouldn’t have the allowance money.
$450 million can buy better propaganda than this.
Possibly an indication of growing interest in the LORD Jesus among Muslims?
$450 mil? Whatever. Saudi prince. Okaaay. I can’t get past Christ looking like Tim Tebow in that painting.
It would be the ultimate scandal, and act of courage, but there is no mountain that cannot be moved once a glimmer of Christ's love penetrates the heart and withers away the fig tree of a false teaching like islam.
The painting is indeed powerful and will surely have an affect on all who see it.
I have faith that it’s in good hands and won’t be harmed, Lord. Amen
Muslims believe Jesus (Koranic Issa) is limited to being a Prophet only.
Salvator Mundi. Savior of the World.
Trusting soul ... trusting a mussulman is not always the best of ideas - no matter how much one might like the idea. He could easily have bought it to deliberately destroy it - money is nothing to these people, while hatred of Christians is everything.
Tim might look like the man in the painting but not the other way around see the enlarged image for a better comparison - link above.
That is exactly what he wants you to think.
The Prince is obviously a shrewd businessman that realized the painting is actually priceless and with time can double his money
Saudis could have collected all sorts of Jesus artifacts/ antiquities over the centuries.. maybe they’re thinking of building us a Mecca-type museum.
FWIW, I’ve looked at small, large. They all look like Tebow to me.
Anyways, I’m just stuned (sic) that American museums and/or philanthropists couldn’t get together and come up with the dough to keep it here. Gee, wonder if it was the subject matter that turned them off.. ? Naw, couldn’t be that...
