I just got done watching 4 hours of Wagner's "Die Walküre" on DVD, the 1991 Met production. Hildegard Behrens makes a petite Brünnhilde. No fat lady there!

Secret Santa reporting as ordered, Ma'am! I don't have any decorating skills, I sing like a throat-kicked donkey, and my social skills are, hmm...no, you don't want to hear about that. But I do have one little bit of holiday mojo - somehow the gifts for my nephews and niece just happen to be what they wanted but didn't tell anyone about. Which drives them and their parents nuts. Ha ha!

I can't tell them the truth - I actually am Santa Claus. So may I make a request? The cookies and milk thing, that's nice, but if you'd leave a large mug of beer, I'd be much obliged. Those dang chimneys are getting skinnier every year...

Hi Everybody!

Just in from Pub Night, did a terrific set with my nephew the rock star and an awesome bass player, and danced for the rest of the evening.

I hope I burned at LEAST 20 calories in the process!

Aww...you’re leavin’ me! LOL!

Dulcie is in total sleep mode. We gave her a very, VERY low dose of morphine and of Lorazepan at about 2pm, and she’s been out of it all the rest of the day. They brought sponges on sticks so I can moisten her poor dry mouth. She barely reacted when we moved her tonight and her arms are limp. I think she’s about to take that last, important step into her next phase of existence. Bless her heart.

Thank you. I know it’s inevitable but it’s very hard watching this gradual slowdown. Very similar to my mom’s last days only she had cancer. Dulcie has age, combined with congestive heart failure and other age-related conditions.

It’s really hard....

You Are Staying Up For Santa

You are as delighted by the holidays as you were when you were a kid. You can't wait to open all your presents.

And now that you're a little older, you think there's a good chance you can stay up late enough to see Santa... until you fall into a cookie and milk coma.

You love the holidays, and you want every good moment to last forever. But you're also impatient to get to the good stuff. You're just crazy enough to still believe in Santa. And you just may get to meet him this year!

Is your weather behaving? Ours is not...it rained yesterday, they said 3” of snow tonight, then changed that to a little snow, then more rain during the week. Sloppy roads and bad driving conditions.

It is supposed to be winter.

Hey, Kathy. Our Internet is back up now. The weather is cold but not as bad as what you are having up there. Bo and I went out yesterday. I had two layers of clothing. he sure enjoyed digging.
